that stinks, I used gas when we lived out in utah. Heated the house and water for a month for about 45 bucks in the middle of winter! There power was cheaper there too, we had a 3k sqft house that we kept at 75 in the 100+ degree days of summer and our bill just topped 200 bucks.

My highest bill last year was in August at $235. 2K sq.ft home with pool pump working 8 hours a day/everyday and temp set at 76 to 78F.

So, for 2700 to 2800 sq. ft I would like to think you may be looking at 275 to 300 max depending where you set the temp. But you should average out somewhere $175 to $200, which is not too bad.

BTW, I will take San Diego anytime than Tampa. Get ready for some shock!

ETA: I took SD to mean San Diego, lol. If you are from South Dakota, this is heaven for you!

Old Thread, I just got my power bill in Land O Lakes for $360.00
2400 sq ft 2 story. Wow, we keep the ac about 76 degrees.
3 kids, 2 adults.
The upstair bedrooms stay hot, we have portable ac units in them to help.
I think it is new unit time, house is 15 years old

I keep my house at 72 and we just got our first full bill since we moved here. For a 2200 square ft house with 10ft ceilings it was 309.00. It my husband, myself and our 17yo. Hope that helps. keep in mind we are at the peak of summer.

Our current bill is $415. House is 3100+ square feet with dual-zone heat pumps (two compressors, two air handlers, two thermostats), cathedral ceilings, and we have a pool pump running 9-12 hours a day. I try to keep the thermostats on 74-75.

Jeez. I was complaining because our bill just hit $110. We live in a 2000 sq ft apartment/townhouse.

Our last bill was $229, 2262 sq ft, 77 degrees, pool pump runs 12 hrs a day (and is old) We also have the original single-pane contractor windows from 1984. We upgraded our entire HVAC system a month ago, from 10 to 15 seer. The previous bill was $310, so I'm sure it helped our case.
