home builders
We are thinking of buying a home in Brandon/Valrico/Riverview and it was suggested to maybe buy a new construction(one that is built already, but not sold.) I was wondering what builders you recommend and which ones to stay away from!
I guess this could be for either new construction or pre-existing home.
THANK YOU!

Please remember if you have something negative to say about a builder to DM the OP rather than post it. The reason behind this is the builder has no way to respond to such post. Thanks

William Ryan
I'm currently building with William Ryan Homes in Riverview and I've been very happy thus far. Their prices are very very reasonable and they have a few very nice communities.

I worked for a national builder in this area for 2 years, and have met quite a few agents that work for other builders. (Trust me, no one knows the quality of new homes like the agents that work for that builder!)
As the mod requested, I will list good ones here, but the bad ones you can DM me for, if you like.
As mentioned, David Weekley is an excellent builder. Smith Family is pretty good as well. Centex is excellent! Rottlund has quality construction. DR Horton has good construction.
There are a few that I know of where the agents themselves wouldn't even buy from the company, DM if you like, I will give those to you.

I have bought homes from several different builders (at least 7 different builders, and different experiences) and was very happy with them, only one had a construction manager who was doing a very bad job and we had 4 pages with things they had to do before the final walk through. 1 was that we had over 500 blue stickers on the wall. (closer to 600) My son had much fun counting them. Maybe it had to do that the manager had a son in Iraq and was stressed aout about it. If it was that I understand, but otherwise I was glad he was fired. I happen to be lucky because neighbors had way more problems. The point I'm trying to make is that even with the best builder you can buy a lemon. There is a builder that gets a lot of bad news, but we live in one of their homes and we love it and never had an issue. Lots of space and a great price. You can DM me for names. For me it is not only the the quality of building , but the whole process and how their design center is doing their job, aswell if you can "trust and rely" on the sales persons before, in the middle and after you signed the contract. I never had a mortgage but that is also something to look into, how is their mortgage company, because mostly they give incentives towards closing if you use their mortgage company. I know the home is what you experience everyday, but the rest is almost as much important.
