Where would you rather live of these two cities? I have an opportunity to live in both cities, but have to pick. My job is promoting me and they've asked me which office i would like to move to. I have family in both FL and the Charlotte area. So Im torn. Where would you go and why?

I've warmed up (pun slightly intended) to Tampa a lot in the last few months but I'd probably pick Charlotte due to its proximity to the mountains, better climate, more cosmopolitan city amenities, cheaper (!!) cost of living, proximity to family (some in Charlotte, the other 95% in VA), equally laid back mentality.

But I'd miss palm trees.

Been in FL for a year and still don't really feel "at home." Still feel like a long-term guest.

Charlotte. I'd only pick Tampa if the majority of your family was there. If it's split, I'd take Charlotte, and you'll probably find that most people will too.

Not by my personal experience, but I knew someone who lived in Charlotte for 5 years, HATED Charlotte. She couldn't wait to leave. Her and her husband have been here for many years and love it. She never explained what she hated about Charlotte.

How old are you? What field are you in, what are your hobbies, etc? Do you like hot weather? Would you be living in suburbs, or prefer "City life"? I ask because both cities have a lot to offer, but it varies from person to person.

First time I've ever heard of anyone hating Charlotte. Most people like it a lot.

Depends what you like in a city, they are VERY different... VERY

Charlotte is pretty much land locked. It's hours from nice mountains, hours from the ocean, not many nice rivers nearby, a few lakes. It's got the change of season over tampa, not much else. The city itself downtown has more going for it, but the suburbs, not so much. More ghetto and abandoned industrial wasteland than tampa too
