I was waiting to hear the story! Thanks for sharing it. Glad you are back.

My ASD kiddo also thrives here. Even if I didn't love it here (which I do), that alone would make it worth it for me.

Thank you!

Yeah...the difference is like night and day....ever since we got back he's been doing much better in school, (loves his independence of walking himself to class which up there wasn't the case...such a small thing if you think about it)...and he is thrilled to be back, and that is enough for us now too!

Ahh, Publix! I definitely miss their bread too. And their deli. And their produce. And.... I could go on and on.

Glad everything is working out for you, especially the situation with your son!

I love seeing two people, Algia and Chris, who used to state that Florida is so terrible come back and realize that this place isn't so bad afterall. I'm confident people will begin moving into Florida again in 2 years or so.

We love it here, I'm not going anywhere. I got a job after being laid off. Took 2 months, but the job is amazing, almost doubled my pay and has a ton of opportunity to advance. Would I have ever been able to do this back 'home' in Alaska... not a chance.

Can't wait to take the family to a Bucs game this winter since we can afford it now! Woo Whoo!

Welcome Back Algia..

It is true so many times we don't know what we have until we lose it. I always say 'Look for the good, the bad show up soon enough'.

I am glad your son is happier at school. That means so much to your family

@ Kash...Congrats on the new job, very happy for you. (I lost the other thread!) That's awesome!

Thanks Keeper.

That's true, and all this stuff that you think (because of many visits) is just insignificant...when you actually "live there"...it finally hits you.

He had this ENTIRE week on green happy faces! I am so happy, and proud of him!

Can you believe we missed open spaces!!! OMG...I didn't realize it until one day we visited with family in NY and we got to drive in open space for a change...as in where you can see the sky...I never thought this would ever bother me....I love the open spaces here (and the gorgeous clouds)...just didn't know how much until we left! LOLOL

I think after one lived in FL a while it is hard to adapt to anywhere else again...like If say I would have moved from Europe to Pittsburgh directly, it wouldn't have probably annoyed me as much as it did...but coming from FL...it felt like moving back in time 100 years.

Not trying to be a jerk, but today I got another 10 loafs and froze them...I now live in fear of loosing it again! hahahahaa and have a need to stock up. On our first trip to Disney after we moved I called a Publix in Orlando, and had them bake me 20 loafs that we stuffed all over the car, and tried to make them last but they only lasted from December though February. Our freezer only had bread until it was almost gone and we could freeze other stuff...See pic below...

I would have done the same with the Tavern ham but we didn't have a cooler...so...it would have gone bad...I am getting my revenge with that now...LOLOL

Me too...Thank you! He is so happy...and he truly thrives here. Like my hubby likes to say: "You can take the boy out of Florida, but can't take Florida out of the boy"! (and now Girl too) LOL

Annie - that is a gorgeous photo of downtown - it looks like sparkling jewels!

Algia - too funny about the frozen bread - you are a bread hoarder! LOL
You should do a commerical for Publix and their bread!
