I was invited by some friends of mine to move in with them (they live in South Tampa). If I accept, and decide to move, how would I get my driver's license there?I don't have one in Maryland because everything is in walking distance. Unless I have my home address on my bank account and my cell phone bill changed (if cell phone even counts as a utility), I won't have any proof of residence in Florida (I don't think my name would be on the utilities or on the lease until next year when they move into another place)... any help would be appreciated!

There is a form where your friend can certify that you do live there, and they provide proof of the address. Form is called CERTIFICATION OF ADDRESS

That and a cell phone bill should cover your proof of residency.

In addition to the above, you will have to take the driver's test if you want a driver's license and don't have one from out of state. You can get a Florida ID card if you don't plan on driving.

A married woman needs her marriage license for her name change from her BC, if she doesn't have the passport.

I thought you need 2 proofs of residence in the form of bills? I could be wrong though.

The way some people drive, getting a driver's license doesn't require you to pass a road test.

You are correct.. you need to complete 2 of the items in their list, to prove your address. One can be the certification of address if you dont have 2 bills though.

This is Fl. They just mail you one when you get here. My ex wife took the drivers test, ran over 3 cones, tried to Parellel park twice before she could do it, and they still gave here a liscence .which explains why Fl drivers are So bad. No one is worse than the people from Quebec and Ontario though, and unfortunately in winter, the are tons of them here.
