Name the top 10 greatest cities in the world. Which of those doesn't have large pedestrian and bicycle projects that tie into the city?
Tampa is not and never will be a "top 10 world city", so lets not waste our money trying to be something we will never be
The bridge is 50% owned by Pinellas who wants to demolish it, so unless Hillsborough can come up with 100% of the costs (they wont), it aint happening. Even if they do, there is money better spent elsewhere.

"tampa will never be great so lets not try to be great"

Brilliant. Great attitude.
Just being realistic buddy...
I would take "Tampa circa 2005" than the nonsense we have here now. Yes, striving to be where we were 7 years ago, not treading water or heading towards the abyss
I would pay for an annual pass to use the walkway for fitness purposes. It is beautiful and a good distance for a decent work out. Better than walking on the side of the Gandy motorway. This is one of the main thoroughfares into our city. We should take pride take advantage of our possibilities. Maybe if proposed a large local business such as Raymond James would step up to the plate and contribute toward the renovation.
location location I personally would fish off there- I like the bridge and wish it got fixed. Why did they NOT repair as it started to decay???? I ask myself that, who was in line for a fat check ?? hmmm
They will end up tearing it down because spending money on a huge miles-long bridge just for people to walk on is ridiculous.
You mean like the new bike/jogging trail bridge that was just built on the Courtney Campbell Causeway near the middle? I almost thought they were widening the whole causeway when that project started, then it became a bit more narrow than an additional set of lanes.
