I would 2nd (or 3rd, 4th? not sure of the count anymore) SPB or TI. Another poster mentioned Gulfport. I currently live in Gulfport (25 & BF is 27) and it is just not a lively beachfront community. It's very retiree-geared...we're the youngest people in our complex by probably 20 years, unless you count the Stetson Law kids (and I don't) Don't get me wrong, I love Gulfport, but if you're looking for nightlife and a busy beachfront area, it's not gonna fit the bill.

i have many interests that the OP has. So Treasure Island and St Pete Beach are the best beaches to live at for lively scenes? I wanna know where to check out when I visit in March.

Yes the bus runs from St. Pete to TI and down to Gulfport/St. Pete beach. On TI they also have a free cab service believe it or not for those who over indulge or don't want to drive, you just tip the driver a few bucks.

Anyway, any of the islands are cool. Good luck!

I looked at the beach areas and some were great, others seem more suitable to me for a vacation only. The strip filled with hotels and condos facing the beach on Gulf Blvd to me seemed too busy and not like "real life" if one lived there. I'd prefer a real neighborhood with more variety of things to do nearby. But, that's just my opinion.

St. Pete Beach is a cool place as well. Tierra Verde, a bit south of that, is very lovely. The Hurricane resturant, has a 3rd story bar where you get just incredible views of sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. Food is pretty good too. Good luck!

I have to agree with you, I go to O'Matteys once in a while and the clientelle is generally 45+ except for the Stedson law students.
