Can anyone give me some suggestions? East Tampa best, but open to even a suburb near Tampa. Much appreciated.

Priceline will get you a decent property for cheaper than many of the homeless-filled roach motels in the area.

Try betterbidding.com to get an idea of the kinds of properties and the price ranges to expect. I think that $25 to $45 a night is feasible. Here are the properties that participate:
