Can anyone give me some suggestions? East Tampa best, but open to even a suburb near Tampa. Much appreciated.

Priceline will get you a decent property for cheaper than many of the homeless-filled roach motels in the area.

Try betterbidding.com to get an idea of the kinds of properties and the price ranges to expect. I think that $25 to $45 a night is feasible. Here are the properties that participate:

Tampa East - Fairgrounds

3 Star
Crowne Plaza Tampa East
Hilton Garden Inn Tampa East/Brandon
Possible: Residence Inn Sabal Park/Brandon

2.5 Star
Baymont Inn Tampa Fairgrounds (formerly Amerisuites Sabal Park)

2 Star
La Quinta Tampa East - Fairgrounds (formerly Baymont Inn Fairgrounds)

1 Star
Days Inn Port of Tampa/Ybor City (formerly La Quinta)

Brandon

3 Star
Courtyard Tampa Brandon
Embassy Suites Tampa Brandon
Homewood Suites Tampa - Brandon

2.5 Star
Fairfield Inn Tampa Brandon
La Quinta Inn Brandon
Holiday Inn Express

2 Star
La Quinta Inn Tampa Brandon West (formerly Baymont Inn and Suites)
Homestead Studio Suites

useless if u dont have a car. u need to be not more than 1-2 miles from either of the 4 poker rooms so the uber fare is under $10

I mean, five years ago, Uber wasn't an option.

i just came across this old thread, im new to florida. looking to find something under $300 per week that dont feel unsafe. i see some on hillsbourough, but worry if theyre safe. as close to derby lane or hardrock as possible. the ones by the greyhound track sure dont look safe. i took a place over $500 for the week at ext stay america its safe but i cant afford $2000 plus month

i cant rent regular apts because i have no credit proof of income and never will stay in 1 place too long. im unable to drive either.

Check the CraigsList. There are always short term apartments/rooms going relatively cheap.

due to being white and unable to physically fight, im scared of lots of weekly motels. this is why i usually prefer places like ext stay america. im even more scared of living in a strangers house, and having to tell him my situation (yes i have cash on me since i play poker for like $1000 per week, but i cant prove income). i dont trust no one i dont know very well. im a loner. no girl, nothing scared ill be setup and robbed. i prefer being a locked door in a motel with inside hallways. u do know florida has weird laws making killing someone in your home perfectly legal, if u just claim they tried to hurt u

Yeah, I don't know what kind of life you live, but I've never had a problem like that in the 30 years I've now lived here.
