Aerial spraying for mosquitoes is tonight for parts of Hernando - Tampa Bay Times

Really? if i were living in Hernando county i'm not sure i'd like the idea of planes or helicopters crop dusting my neighborhood with chemicals strong enough to kill mosquitoes.. Do they perform this operation often?
Any one else uncomfortable with the idea?

The formulation is approved for use in urban areas and the spraying will reduce the possible spread of other diseases that could be spread due to the mosquitoes so most will not have a problem with this. Of course you will get a few people complaining, they can just stay inside tonight.

Several years ago when I lived in NC the county sprayed a few weeks after a hurricane. My neighbor and I were talking in the yard while the mosquitoes were eating us alive when the plane flew over. Within less than a minute the mosquitoes were gone and I did not have any problems the rest of the summer. They don't spray often so I doubt there will be any health consequences.

I guess if people who live there have no problem with the practice then it must be harmless.Just from a northern perspective it sounds strange to envision planes spraying neighborhoods with chemicals that render all mosquitoes dead in minutes.
With all the conspiracy theories going around and many people hating/distrusting the present government you dont suppose these chemicals might have another more devious purpose and the killing of the mosquitoes is just a ploy?, i'll keep an eye on my Brother after the spraying,if he switches from FOX to MSNBC ya might have a problem, IN COMING!!..

My daughter and I are Mosquito desert. I would pay them to fly that plane over my house if I could, and over me everywhere I go!

The only place we never get bit is at Disney World, because I am 100% positive they do fly that plane over there. There are no flying bugs there anywhere except around areas of Fort Wilderness.

Actually "conspiracy speaking" I have more doubts about the food we are fed!
I wish there was a plane that could spray something over these prefab horrendous foods, & fast foods too!!!!

When i lived in Aripeka just a few feet over the line in Pasco County that helicopter used to come by a couple times a week. I had no screen over my pool and often wondered about that.
