My husband and I are considering moving back to Florida, specifically Tampa. We lived in Miami prior to Washington,DC and really like city life. My husband and I are in our mid-forties with grown children (not living with us). We are looking for a neighborhood that is NOT a retirement community age group and close to MacDill AFB, malls, entertainment, etc. We would like to keep our home purchase below $300K. Any ideas where we should explore would be greatly appreciated!

At that location you can not live anything but the city life. I would recommend the culbreath heights/ bayou, virginia park, parkland estates, and new suburb beautiful. All of these neighborhoods are very nice huge yards with lots of trees, the zip code 33616 would probbably be beter for you price range.

I highly recommend Beach Park, zip code 33609. I've lived in Miami, DC, etc. and LOVE Beach Park. Close to everything, beautiful streets, low crime, high education levels.

I second south Tampa. Under 300k probably keeps you out of beach park and new suburb beautiful zip code are 33609;33606;33629; on zip code 33609 you want to be south of Kennedy. Otherwise a 2/2 or smaller 3/2 you can swing on that budget; I personally love Virginia park and palma ceia north of bay to bay east of mac dill
