I totally get that, but then again it's good too because Westchase will grow more. People want to be in that area, for sure, but some may not be able to afford to buy so the next best bet is renting

Secondly, I like how you spout all this "history" with no support to back it up. Was that just general knowledge? LOL

1. The quote said "whoever"---which sounds like a question- so I quoted the Bible verse-
2. I did not know I had to ref. all my sources to make my comment true, but I did not create the post on my own but derived it from historical commentaries done by others. I am sure you can find an older person who can tell you what really happened, but plenty on the History/ National Geo- channel etc etc. There is so much denial sometimes, if it did not happen in your own back yard, does not mean it did not happen at all ?

In any case, beautiful cities go to crap for lack of money, envirorment problems etc etc, but not always because of an apt complex with people with less money moving into an area, crime has NO borders,,, just some have more money to cover it up. I think regeneration of areas is what keeps the city going- 1979 Miami Beach -(home) looked like crap,, now it a great place to visit, live and be a part of. Rebuild the inner cities, instead of taking more cow pastures.

seems like a socialist approach to me, why work my *** off to live in a nice area, only to have people that "cant afford it" be forced upon where I want to live? This is what is happening to this country. There is a more underlining issue here than just Camden moving into Westchase.

Which is probably why this thread is so popular.

The only time I really see this is people who live in Countryway; they will swear up and down they are Westchase but they DO NOT pay the fees we do. Also lifestyles fitness on Hillsborough calls iteself "Westchase", lol that is a joke as it is clearly TNC.
Sorry to break the news to you this way but no, Mandolin is not part of Westchase. It's Park Place aka Highland Park. Unfortunately, Mandolin homeowners do not get the use of the Westchase pools et al. I recently did this research and I was surprised as well. P.S. The Windsor Place townhomes are also Park Place and not Westchase.

I'll abstain from the apartment discussion but just let me say that a) these apartments have been in planning for a very long time and b) everyone has to live somewhere.

Nothing socialist about a private company building apartments charging as much rent as the market bears. Is not like its government subsidized low income housing. You can buy a townhouse in westchase for under 150k, so hardly prohibitive, a lot of those renters will pay more than some of the westchase homeowners. To me the whole sentiment of the thread is about keeping a certain type of people away from westchase, I wouldn't call it racism is more like stay in your place-ism.

Yea, you wouldn't call it racism, because its nothing of the sort. I have reason to believe you could not afford to live here either and seem bitter by that fact, but I digress.
This is a private company that makes a profit off subsidizing grants that they receive from the government for low incoming housing such as section 8 in many areas of the country; it kinds reminds me of GM for the "housing" world, so yes this is 3rd party socialism at work. Add to that, the whole argument is not about the apartments that were just built, but what they will become in 5, 10 years which is a section 8 cesspool. K thanks, bye

Take a look at Metro 510 downtown if you want to see how fast a complex can turn to crap in a matter of months by offering "low income" housing to fill the units.
