Any registered voter may vote by mail. You are not required to provide an excuse or be absent. Florida law requires that all accepted ballots returned by mail be included in the official final results. No need to remember election dates. You will be automatically be mailed ballots that you are eligible to vote. Your request to vote by mail will be good for two federal general election cycles, and can be voided at any time. You can mail your ballot or drop it off at one of many drop sites throughout the county.

Visit Hillsborough County -- Supervisor of Elections and select "Vote by Mail" on the toolbar.

I know I'm going to regret asking this question but where do you think they are going?

I don't know; the post office looses stuff all the time...I rather vote in person...and if I have to drop it off at some voting location, might as well go vote there, what's the point?? I mean if you're disabled in some way, or are overseas I can see a use for this...IMO, otherwise tho...you're still going to go "somewhere" to drop it off!

I have faith in our postal system. I'm pretty excited about the thought of not having to stand in line for hours to vote so I will happily mail by vote in.

same here - on both accounts.....much more convenient, imo.....no little old ladies to deal with at the voting polls.

Last time I went to vote, there was no one there except for the people working there....I guess it just depends.

One thing you must do, ensure that your sig on back of envelope VERY closely matches the one you have on your original application form to vote by mail. When it is scanned, if it doesn't match and they are quite sensitive machines - then the vote could become a provisional and I understand then it can be discretionary if it's counted. If you are going to vote this way do it early as you can, so that the receiving clerks can contact voter in question to check on validity of the vote. I was going to do t his, but my signature is so varied and like a scrawl that I'm afraid to do it now. However, I will probably take it to the supervisor of elections office personally to see it gets accepted.
If you are worried about the mailin, you can do this, or you can vote early at a supervisor of elections office in your county. There are only 3 I think in pinellas but a lot more in Hillsborough.

You can vote by mail in Pinellas as well. I've already signed up. I wouldn't mind taking my ballot somewhere to drop it off. I'm just happy to avoid waiting in a long line in November.
