How far east or southeast of 19 do you have to go from NPR before it gets good and nicely liveable?

Around 4 to 6 miles and it's a horse of a different color. You go from rundown 2bedroom drug homes costing 25k to much bigger and newer homes in the 150k to 250k range.

Hm, I've been reading a lot about PR/NPR. But some of the homes I like are in that area and they look quite nice. I've been exploring the real estate outside of the metro area a bit because we're going to need about an acre, and most of the properties closer in are on teensy lots, which we're just not used to. These fit my criteria, but the more I read about the area on this forum the more I wonder if I should take them off my favorite list. If anyone has the time to look and comment, I'dbe grateful!

All the homes you listed are light years better and in much better areas than the rundown drug hoods with small homes costing 25 to 50k.

I think you will do fine with any of the above homes you listed.

Yes, hope to do that in January. But I was starting to think I should just skip that town altogether.

I'll be posting some more specific questions closer to the time when we can get down there (I'm in CT). I've already learned so much from reading here to help narrow down my search, and I know I'll get a lot more help when I ask my questions. Again, many thanks!

Maybe if you have seen any of these areas, you would be qualified to make such statements. Try GOOGLE Earth before you make yourself look like a dummy again.

the question still is: Who, besides you, would buy anything in the ghetto areas of any place?
