Default Why the void of development in Tampa Bay?

Looking from satellite I can see a very very large natural area south of Keystone Road/County Road 272, east of East Lake Road/County Road 611, West of The Eagles and north of Forest Lakes Blvd. What is the reason for not building up this area? It's huge. They have built up all around it. Is it a protected area, wetlands or something?

Yes it is. I think you are referring to Brooker's Creek Preserve, they have school camps there, and it is a preservation area.

The area I'm referring to is about 10 miles long north to south. Just google map the area and you'll see there's just nothing there.

marshland/swamp/wetlands, tough to build anything there as it will all have to be filled in..Its also a designated environmental education park. the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center ...recommended..

So why the snarky remark, rather than answering the question?

Because the answer was obvious if you spent a few minutes to research yourself, or had lived here for more than a few days

Heaven forbid that every square inch of Pinellas County not be covered in development.

You are right, there is such a high demand for housing right now. In fact every single home is sold, demand is so high people are paying 10x real worth
