Meaning to ask this for a while now...
Where in Florida, or around Tampa/The Gulf can you still see Flamingo's in their natural habitat? and I am NOT talking about theme parks...But you always see the "flamingo" on all sorts of memorabilia like key chains, postcards etc, yet I have no clue where you would see them live? I am assuming they have to be around somewhere since they are such a symbol for Florida!

You probably won't. They are not really from Florida. The only place any have been seen in the wild (other than escaped zoo birds) are down around the very southernmost tip of Florida and/or the Keys.

Well I kinda knew they were not original to Florida, but I was thinking I might be wrong...

The roseate spoonbills look similar to flamingos - they are large pink birds, but of course have the large rounded bill (like a spoon). I used to see those all the time when we lived in Lakeland.

Flamingo's are
not native to Florida.
So you will see them in Zoos...

In the seven years in Tampa, I have not seen one flamingo. I have seen them in south Florida. Do you know why they are pink? It is because of all the shrimp they eat. Do we have shrimp here?

Like others have said, flamingos are not native here. The flamingo most people associate with Florida is the Caribbean flamingo which, as the name implies, lives in the Caribbean.
