Am I the only one who has problems with Brighthouse?
We choose Brighthouse due to the price, now I am completly unsatisfied with their service Keep in mind, not their customer service, but the service itself.
We have lived in W.Bradenton for 4 months, I have called them out to my home over 3 times. My internet will be slow or at time not even work properly, my cable box will mess up atleast once a week, and at times my phone will not even work! Since I run a buisness out of my home, this is completely unacceptable.
I am thinking of switching to Verizon, what are your thoughts?

I have never had problems with Brighthouse for my cable service(I love BayNews9), but use Verizon FiOS for internet and phone, by far the fastest internet speeds. If they have Verizon FiOS in your area, you may want to consider it.

I remember trying to get Verizon high speed internet once. That was the worst experience I ever had dealing with a phone company. First they lost my order, then sent the wrong modem, then when I couldn't install it because the phone hookups were wrong. They sent a guy out and he said since I had one phone connection, all the rest would be like $78/ a piece to hookup.
The one connection I had, was in a guest bedroom??
Anyway, I told him no thanks. I cancelled all services with Verizon and have never looked back.
The worst part was after I cancelled all services, they kept sending me bills for their internet service, which I never had in the first place. I got into several screaming matches over the phone with their reps, about the bill. Ugghh!!!
I'm getting irritated, just talking about it.

I used to have Brighthouse until they set up the Verizon Fios around my house. I changed everything to Verizon. The internet connection is digital which makes it super fast and everything works wonderful. With the high speed connection they come to your house and install it. The modem installing that they used to have where you would have to do it yourself is not part of the new digital technology. I am very satisfied with the service now.

I'm in south Tampa and have Brighthouse. The only reason I don't change it is because of the inconvience it will cause me. The modem speeds routinely drop like a dress on prom night, and my tv cable box will go out of service or display "poor signal" during long periods about once a week.
All of that and Bay News 9 seems to think political correctness is more important than serving their community.....many of their crime reports are posted without complete descriptions of perpetrators when other news outlets already are giving descriptions.

Peaches - we have had the same problems - we live in West Bradenton. Cable goes down, along with internet for no reason. One time for 3 days!! Yesterday we switched everything to Verizon Fios, it won't be actually in place until next week, so can't give an opinion of it yet. But we're very hopeful!!!

Today we moved from Brighthouse to Fios. The price is better and there are more HD channels. We have been BH customers since 2001 and look to save hundreds of dollars a year. When I called to disconnect my service, I experienced the worst customer service call of my adult life. They refused to disconnect my service unless I listened to their monologue about how bad Verizon is and answered all their questions based around my new contract. The questions are worded to make you sound like an idiot if you choose to leave BH. My objections to not answering their questions and just disconnect the service was met with "well, you can call back and get another service person and start all over again." Even if Verizon turns out to be a bad decision, BH will be at the bottom of my list of choices forever. Incidentally, they offered to take $50 off my monthly bill going forward. Too little too late. We have had poor internet service and upstairs recordings were pixilated (no matter how often we changed out the box). Verizon install was seamless and 5 hours in all is well. Hope it continues because I am too angry to go back to BH. My advice if you cancel w/BH, just tell them you are moving.
