Those of you who travel to the Tampa Airport frequently and have to return Hertz rental cars... I have a question for you. Is there something wrong with the airport signs for hertz rental return or am I just an idiot who cannot properly follow the signs?

When I entered the TPA airport this AM, I followed the airport signs for the rental car return. Taking the left lane to the rental car garage. HERTZ rental was the last right sign on the left lane. Basically, the HERTZ parking is on the first or second floor, not far from the garage entrance. Yet, it appeared that the entrance to the HERTZ parking was blocked off today (6AM local time) and I had to go the wrong way to the HERTZ booth. Employee there told me that noone else has any issues returning the car.

I think that the next time I'm there, I'll have to practice a rental car return on the day of my car rental checkout.

Anyone else having issues with rental car returns? Specifically HERTZ rental?

I use Thrifty and travel there frequently and never had a problem. Not sure where hertz is but I assume it is just further down the line when returning as my turn is the first one. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.....

I've gone with my co-worker twice to return rentals cars there and we've gotten lost both times. I don't know if it the signs or what but we always end up at the pick up area instead of the drop off.

No problems here with a recent return to Enterprise. I just stayed to the right after taking the exit for rental returns.

Wonder if anyone has mentioned the problem to Hertz.

I hate that sign! I believe W is North and E is South. Go figure.

Someone on this forum explained that sign is referencing the portion of the US 92 route (which runs E/W across the state) which follows Dale Mabry for a little while.
