Hi, I just got a letter from the above and I wanted to ask if they require an inspection when it's a new policy? Thanks.

if you don't want wind coverage than no inspection is needed, I was quoted 460. per year for basic no wind on 1300sf. they wont even quote me on wind until I have a inspection on the roof. not even going to ask about flood, this house is slab on grade on Tampa Bay no sea wall. Pretty sure it will flood and I am sure the ins comp would love to sell me flood. Not going to happen, its flooded once since 1955,I am 60 and if I am lucky I have 20 more yrs, I will take the gamble.. But I do need slip and fall and fire/theft.

Thx so much, alaskan. Much good luck with your insurance. It is a hassle. I'm in your age group too, so I totally understand...

Some ins. comp. will require an inspection for any new policy...it has been changing lately and different ins. handle it different.

It may have to do with the price range and the expected condition of the house.
