If you are among the "working class" yes, your price range will get you a dump. And the "dumps" are going higher and higher. These landlords seem to think they own property in New York City...

That area is pretty fine, mostly just older people and families in that area of town. We looked at a house there and the area seemed nice enough, but the house wasnt for us. Generally speaking, most of the houses south of lumsden and east of providence are all pretty good for a couple miles at least. We're south of lumsden on john moore and its pretty nice here. Areas around 60 and closer to tampa can get shady but that's why I chose not to live near 60.

Its been a few years, but the house we looked at was in Heather Lakes (which is near where you are looking at). Our price range was around 1200 a month and was around 1800 sq feet.

Its pretty good area lots of military families, providence lakes is alot better than heather lakes which can be a bit run down. The schools are decent Mintz is a good school very diverse my oldest went to k/1st there I always thought it her class pictures are like the United colors of Benetton commercial one of each. The problem is the middle school is not the greatest I think the still do some busing to that school. You can;t beat the area for easy access to the crosstown and suburbia in general (little league, big box stores, soccer league). I actually lived around there from 05-07. There weren't a lot of kids back then, although trick or treating was good.
