I really don't get the point of this thread. It is SOOO super easy to dwell on the negative and complain. It's the easiest thing in the world to do and the easy way out.

Is it that much harder to focus on the POSITIVE? Why not affect change to your area or neighborhood? Why don't you make a difference in your community?

Many people come to this forum to find a good neighborhood in which to live. By posting crime stats, this helps people make a more informed decision. I know I wish I would have found this forum before we moved to the Deltona area of Spring Hill. It would have saved us a whole lot of headaches later on.

And about working to change an area … it doesn't always work. We tried that by inviting the neighborhood kids to our home and involving ourselves with their parents. We also joined a church that was heavily involved with serving the surrounding neighborhoods. There was just too much dysfunction for us to make a difference, and we didn't want to risk our children's futures by sticking around.

We now live in a better area surrounded by less dysfunction, drugs, and the like. Hopefully what I post can guide people to make good decisions about where to live.

This is absolutely true Floridagirl777 but the OP has a very strange obsession and likes to continuosly rehash the same subject in thread after thread with their over the top demeanor and seemingly endless free time.
