I'm moving the family to the Tampa area next month and shopping for homes now. Can anyone please provide me with some first hand knowledge on Bahia Lakes or Ruskin in general? I have never been to the area myself so reading these forums is extremely helpful in our home search.

To be honest, never heard of that community.

Ruskin isn't a great place, really. Not much happening there - somewhat rural. Schools questionable. Lots of migrant folks.

Joshua, here's a recent thread on Ruskin that will give you some basic information on the area and some links:

Moving to Ruskin in July--Questions!!

You can also search the forum for other threads on Ruskin.

This is just my opinion, but if you're thinking of moving here, Bahia Lakes is probably a good choice. Personally I'd prefer it to Mira Lago or Riverbend or Hawk's Point, for sure. I don't know much about it, but it looks very nice. My main concerns there would be flooding, evacuation in event of a storm, etc.
It's nice that it's close to EG Simmons Park, but just know that the sandy beach there isn't as charming as it looks in the video. Nice place to go for walks, fishing, playing with the kids, but I don't recommend swimming there.

Ruskin is an area in "transition", so to speak. Approach the schools with caution and do your reseach.
