I've heard of crocs making it this far north. I guess no one knows what is lurking in the filthy looking water of Lake Tarpon.

Wow, no kidding! That croc looks like it's pretty good size too.

Not being down there yet - is Lake Tarpon fed by salt water or is is fresh? I've been watching various shows about crocs and alligators in FL and it's been very educational and showed how it's possible that alligators can venture into salt water and crocs and be found in fresh depending on the streams and tributaries and where they flow.

That's nuts. Not just cause of the size but crocs are a lot more aggresive than gators.

I think thats considered relitivley clean water down there. We used to bass fish there quite often. It really didnt seem to be the cleanest water.

Actually, Lake Tarpon is part half-fresh and part half-saltwater

There arent many other places in the country where you can enjoy excellent saltwater and excellent freshwater fishing in the same place and probably only one you can do in a day.

If your a bass fisherman, it is heaven.

Alligators, Large mouth bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Tilapia, Catfish, Sunfish, crocs.

I wouldnt be surprised if a shark gets taken there eventually. There is a canal that runs from the lake into Tampa Bay.

Actually that's not true. The American Croc is less aggressive than the alligator. Now there are other species of croc that are much more aggressive, but not the American.

I would never swim in fresh or fresish water in a warm weather area.

Besides, I have a great pool to swim in.
