What has been your most interesting run-in with nature (wildlife)

Another black racer. This guy was in my garden day before yesterday. At first glance I was hoping it was the indigo which used to visit here, though they've a huge range so that was unlikely. The indigo is beautiful and they can be friendly though rare these days due to habitat loss so you're not supposed to harass them. This guy seemed pretty nice too. I noticed the white on his chin when I came in close to him. He hung out until I got my camera and then he posed for this picture.



And here's two hawks from yesterday taken through a window so quality not so good. I think these are babies because outside of mating I've never seen two adults hanging out together away from the trees where they nest. They raise their babies in a neighbor's yard but often come to play in my garden.

Maybe the adult hawk comes seeking the snake to feed to its young.
