hey all, new here.

my neighbors fence is completely falling down and unsafe, i do not know these people, seem very unfriendly and dont care to spark an arguement.

i found an orange flag on my side of the fence, is that the property marker for my land?

they have bushes/limbs growing thru the remaining standing part of their wood fence, onto my property, who can i call and what should i expect to happen?

thanks.

Call code enforcement, they will answer all your questions.

I'm not sure, I'm not with code enforcement.

It could be a flag from a survey. Perhaps the property is being sold. It usually is a code violation to have a fence in distress on a property.

I wont go into details but I have a friend who paid dearly in the pocket for thinking the little orange flag was a property line. The advice given here is the only course of action.

These fence owners maybe in a distressed place themselves.
Walk over and introduce yourself.
Explain your concern over the fence. Is this something you could help them fix?
Wooden fences can be easy to repair.
Put together a clean up , fix up crew, help them out.
This would benefit both of you.
Youth groups @ Church seem to be looking for projects and donation hours.

This. I have found Hernando County CE to be quite good to deal with.

The orange flag is generally for telephone or fiber optic if it is just on a very thin wire if it is a wood stake then it may be survey but it is possible someone previously moved the stake.
Bushes and limbs that are on your side of the property line you can clear but as suggested try contacting code enforcement first if you don't think they will be receptive to you.
