I only ask because I check my "zestimate" once a month and it fluctuates a couple thousand here and there...but this month my home's value rose a whopping $41,000 ! What could cause a increase like that?

A lot of real estate closings which went into the system all at once for a previous month? Not sure how often Zillow recalculates. Mine just went up also, but not by that much.

I just checked my sister-in-laws house and her went up about $10,000...that seems more realistic...

Do you really think zestimate is an accurate depiction of your homes assessment? I wouldn't put too much stock on those estimates.

The Z-estimate in general is wildly incorrect. Many values are well below the actual value of the homes in our area.

My Z-estimate also went up about $40,000 lately. However, real estate values here in the Atlanta Metro market have risen in the last 6 months. Maybe Zillow recalculates periodically. I have also noticed that they take new aerial photos of properties every few years. I can tell because of newly planted trees in our yard appearing in the photos after a time.

Crazy - mine went up $20K!

My house in Spring Hill went up a bit, too - though not nearly as much as our Safety Harbor place.

I'm in agreement with whoever said we are looking at another bubble.

And I think when this one pops, we're going to see things get really, really bad - worse than last time.

Checking my house, Trulia was way lower than Zillow. I actually think the Zillow estimate was pretty reasonable. I'll find out in a few months...
