I've been noticing as i have been applying for IT jobs down there that a number of them are newly created ones that are paying anywhere near or above $50k. Not too shabby compared to the $14/hour rate i was originally being told i was going to get

Well, hurry up and land that gig NOW! We need you here like yesterday!

This area is like the little engine that could. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

It took a serious arse kicking and is slowly clawing it's way back to mediocrity. I'm optimistic that TB will one day be a good place to call home despite the harsh summers, but there's still a long way to go.

Trust me, I'm working everyday on getting down there ASAP since there is no guarantee on how long this will last, but I will say there has been an increase in full-time job openings, and the contract jobs that are offered have very good chances of hiring permanently after the contract end date, which is reassuring especially in this economy!
