I totally agree. I think all of the major cities in Florida do seem "shiney". I just never heard it put quite like that in those terms, but it is a good description that fits well. I think they look shiney because most of the large cities are still fairly young and the buildings are so new and the energy in towns is positive and vibrant. Its the same way in Texas. Houston, Dallas, Austin, on clear days, those towns actually sparkle.

LOL What an unrealistic expectation! That's like saying: "do you all love every shoe Payless sells?"
How could you "hope we all agree"? Are we all twins? If you want to talk "Shiny" then Miami takes the cake on Shiny any day. No offense. Tampa won't even come close; Jax is shinier...ever seen their downtown?

If you are referring to the east side then sure, lost of shiny rims!

If you look at downtown at sunset time...sure as well....sun reflected on the buildings=shiny buildings

If you compare it with an old mining town...sure...lots of new builds (with a lot shorter life than those buildings in that old mining town though).

What are you talking about exactly? or are you bored and want to start a soon to be closed thread?

Lock the thead? Why?

If PriusH8er posted the same insight and added a smiley face a certain group of people here would be tripping over themselves to rep each other for such a positive outlook.

If anything, kbrkr was making a brilliant artistic statement on the state of drivel on this board. That or they are on crack.

Parts are for sure. Our son works in a big modern glass building in DT. Other parts not so much. It seems to be a blend of old and new. Luckily the mayor has a good vision and is trying to bring more new to the area.

Never thought of Tampa as being "shiny", although downtown has some sparkle to it. My idea of a really shiny sparkly city (most of it anyway) is Sarasota, the downtown is almost all new or renovated, lots of glass, pastels, lights and the sparkling bayfront. St. Pete is like that too.
