Thanx, but I've got the house-hunting/real estate thing covered. What I'm not familiar with are the neighborhoods, like, the "hood". Zip codes for good and bad would be helpfu. The Kid lives in '709 and that's nice; I've searched out to about 12 miles from him, down around Gulfport, Pinnelas Point, south of downtown. Most of what I've seen on realtor.com is pretty nice and afordable andI've sent my favorites to my agent. She and daughter-in-law will scope them out, get pix and info, and I'll be down next month to look for myself.
Thanx for the help.

Where did everybody go? Did I run y'all off?
If anybody could give me an info dump on the area of 2nd Avenue North, St. Pete, I'd appreciate it. Found a house I'm extremely interested in in the 5500 block area, '710 zip code. From the provided photos, 3 satellite views of the huose, street, and general area, it looks good and the surrounding location is excellent. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Being a third-generation Tampan with roots in Ybor City I've had more than my share of Cuban sandwiches; and from a variety of places. A month ago I was heading east on Hillsborough Ave from Himes and saw a sandwich shop called Aquila.....it's on the corner of Jamaica.
I popped in and ordered a large Cuban, pressed, along with a cafe con leche. Wow! The sandwich was easily a foot long (!) and tasted great. The bread was authentic, the pork was roasted, and the ham and salami tasted like the good stuff.
I'd like to hear from other forum members about other places that have good Cubans -- and any other quality latin food as well.

When I moved here in '87, the locals were said to be "Tampans"...and I was just reading an old Tampa Streetcar Brochure from the 50's, and there was a quote that stated "Tampa Electric Company, Carriers of Tampans for over 50 years"

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but the chat thread is for ppl to bring up different subjects. It is not an online chat forum per se, where you can see who is online and answer their questions while they are online.
