Seriously, we need to give kids the day off to go to the fair? Are teachers paid for that day? Isn't the school year short enough already? Aren't we falling behind all the other nations in scholastic achievement as it is? Do we really need to get them a sense of entitlement this early in their lives?/end rant.

They should only get snow days like the rest of the country.

We give 'em hurricane/tropical Storm days, don't we? BTW, went to the matinee at Brandon cinemas last Friday and the place was swamped with rugrats running around the theater. Asked a mom why the kids weren't in school, and she said it was "State Fair Day" ----but the weather was a little chilly and rainy and the kids didn't want to go, so hundreds of them were at the cinema.

I would have thrown popcorn at them.

They're reporting that Sheriff Gee is going to meet with community leaders to try and do something about it. Yep, that'll work. After a prayer meeting and lots of hand-wringing.

Me, neither. State Fairs are off my list after the debacle at the Wisconsin State Fair, what with the knockout games and polar bear hunting. Maybe they'll hit up the Strawberry Festival this year.

Nothing says family fair and festival fun like a huge police presence!

Sheriff reaches out to African-American community leaders after State Fair brawl

Sheriff reaches out to African-American community....

I wonder when the sheriff will get help with this....how much money is this costing from our tax money for parents who think the sheriff will handle their kids and after seeing the video I already noticed the group of running teenagers were from one group of society...

Maybe we need Al Sharpton to step up to the plate or wait he is probably working hard to pay back his millions in back Tax money....

If this is going on since 1990 why are the African-American community and leaders only coming out when a case Like GZ happens and it involves one person against one person but a huge issue like is is not something they seem to want to address.

If you read the article than you can see that many had many run ins with the law already and we are talking about teenagers!!!!!

Time to keep their parents responsible and liable for all costs and medical issues of the victims.

How is the majority losing to the minority (and I dont mean racially) I mean those that want a positive environment (majority) and those that dont (minority)?
