Moved from TPA to Albuquerque two years ago now moving back. Lived in Waterchase (just outside Westchase area) for 7 years but looking for something different. I would like opinions on the community of Cheval. Have 3 kids so I know schools are good. How about deed restrictions (need fenced in yard but don't know if they allow it) and community pool/activities. Any comments?

Thanks.

Cheval is VERY NICE! Our Pastor lives in there. We've been over there quite often lately. I don't remember seeing any fences or a community pool either. Looking at Google Earth a couple of the Mansions appear to have iron fences, but I don't see any other.

Poor???? Have you been in there?

Can't have fence unless it is wrought iron; we have friends who live there and visited a few properties when we were looking to buy a home of our own...CDDs are out of control, lots of retires, and every time we go there there are never kids around...not sure if there are any kids there...or they might be either older, or infants....our friends live across the playground and say there is never anyone around it....they don't have kids...but there are a million stop signs, and speed traps we noticed. Two of the times we went there, there were cops making sure everyone stopped at the stop signs...overkill? or I'm not sure what a heck was that...I did see a few alligators... They were babies I think cause they were very small; that's the only place I've seen alligators in Tampa....Westchase is nicer, and more social IMO. Much closer to the beaches too...our friends who live there are moving out because of the CDDs and the lack of social people; lots of Snotty's seem to live there. We love Westchase...the proximity to everything is awesome.

Our RE took us to Cheval West and the homes there were zero lot line, backing to Lutz Lake Fern rd....linoleum floors, really ugly Formica counters etc. We didn't like it one bit.

They have a pool for club members, and also tennis courts. Our friends paid $700+ for that membership; insane. They moved from TN, and didn't know the areas around, that's how they landed there, but after two years they are done and over with it.

Good to know PhotoProIP. Thanks for the info. We lived in Waterchase for 7 years and now that we're moving back, just wanted something a little different. Maybe Cheval not a great fit after all.

If you lived down there in Waterchase, you'll hate Cheval especially when you realize how far is it from conveniences, some people like it, we couldn't fathom to drive so much to get to a store. In Miami we used to back to a Publix. I don't know where work is, but if "different" is what you are looking for, maybe look at Safety Harbor; it's pretty, very community oriented, great schools, and has many nice homes too...
