Well, now you've gone and done it. I just got back from the Walgreen's in Sun City Center and the geezers were twelve deep at the pharmacy counter renewing their Viagra prescriptions.

RIP.

Mr. Glazer seemed like a good man.

Ditto. Just saw a bio on him and he was impressive.

Papa Glazer was awesome!! I was lucky enough to meet him 3 times during his tenure. He was always happy and willing to talk to the fans in person, never ran away. I took photos with him and never had an issue. Between that and his work in the local community, he will be missed. A real class act.

As a long suffering Buc fan since '81, I was very happy that they became owners, hired Dungy, got a new stadium built, changed the uniforms. Not really happy with what they paid for Gruden or how the team tumbled in 2009 to the present (and purchasing Man U), but the SuperBowl can't be ever taken away.

The most impressed I am for any billionaire, though, is what they provided to the community where they earn their income - appreciate these kinds of things (ie donations to the arts like George Steinbrenner always did).

If I had any beef at all, it would be how Sapp and Lynch were treated. I think they could have done a little better for a couple of guys who helped get them to the Super Bowl, and in Lynch's case, it just seemed as if they really made him crawl before kicking him to the curb. Glad he's got a retirement gig, though.

Mind you, I don't know much about the inside workings of these decisions, just seems it was done in a very shabby manner. Not in the way that you'd think a class act would handle it.

Ownership has almost 0 to do with these decisions... it's 99.99% of the time coach/GM decisions, and that's how it should be.

Having an owner that puts his hands on everything destroys franchises. You only need to look at Dallas, Washington and up until recently Oakland as examples.

While I agree that an owner should be confident with the management it has selected and respect their decisions (otherwise why have a management structure in the first place?), it's not necessary to put hands on everything in order to counsel, as an owner, that a little class and finesse be used in letting go of a couple of guys who did right by the team. The way Lynch was treated was heartbreaking. No harm in urging that a little sensitivity be used. He wanted to find a place in the organization. Nothing wrong with that, he was very well thought of in the community, could've been a real asset. Seems like he might have been considered a threat to someone in management. Anyway I think they reaped the karma of that.
