I currently live in SE Florida and have been wanting to move for awhile. I've visited and thought of many places, but nothing really fit. I have lived all over Florida except the west coast. I love Florida, but I HATE South FL, mainly because of the people here. I liked Orlando, but I want to be near the water. I am considering St. Pete. It's perfect location for work and the beaches are awesome. Has anyone else made the same move? I am just wondering if is going to be exactly the same as where I am now. I really like the "old florida" kind of feel to it over there too.

There is more of the "old Florida" in Sarasota than St. Pete. Half of St. Pete is not nice people wise...

I would take a trip to Sarasota if I were you.

I live in Sarasota/Bradenton and also love St. Pete. I think OP should check out the whole region and see what clicks, don't think one can go wrong with either. Job-wise, St. Pete will be much better.

Good luck!

Thank you!!! I am a court reporter and like the idea of being close to Pinellas and Hillsborough courthouses and convenient to all over the west coast. I guess I will have to start taking more work over there in different areas and just see what I like best.
