Hello,

I am thinking of retiring in Florida, Clearwater, Largo, Dunedin area. I would like to go for a month and live there so I can find a suitable place to rent. I would think that in May, the season would be over. I'm looking for a small furnished place that would rent to me for a month, with my dog, that is under $900/mo. I don't mind a studio or mobile home and a refundable deposit because I know that I will not cause any damage.

I have looked on Craigslist, but have found nothing and all of the vacation rentals that I have seen are $1000+.

It seems that it is not WHAT you know, but WHO you know. If you have any information, please let me know...BTW, my dates are flexible.

thanks in advance

VRBO.com is a good place but I don't know that you'll find one for the price you are looking for. Have you thought about an extended stay motel or hotel?

In Dunedin there is a place called The Seaside Artisan..we stayed for two nights and they are very dog friendly. I have to say it is a bit of an odd duck...well not for here but elsewhere it would stand out a bit. The units are clean (all 9 of them)and the owners are wonderful. You can walk to downtown Dunedin (plenty of places to eat or have coffee, including several that allow you to eat outside with your dog!), walk behind for a wonderful street to walk your dog along the water. Haven't the faintest about the monthly so you would need to call...and they only take cash..yep! FYI .. Dunedin is a very dog friendly town..
