I'm currently in Pensacola but researching areas further south. I've been to Punta Gorda and the areas ranging from Spring Hill to Clearwater to visit so far. I love the beaches here but I want more months out of the year to swim. Can you swim all year round in the Spring Hill area? If not how many months a year can you? I moved from PA and liked the idea of cooler weather in the winter, now that I've been through a winter here I realized that having a pool right out my kitchen window and a beach 20min away that I can't use month after month is driving me crazy! I don't want to go further south than the Venice area (which is #1 on my list right now) but wouldn't mind any locations ranging from Spring Hill down to Venice as long as it's warm enough to swim most months out of the year.

If you have a heated pool you are fine year round. The weather can be much colder in Springhill compared to the Venice area in the winter. If you can take gulf temps around 60 in the winter you will do fine.

If you are talking about swimming in the Gulf there really isnt anywhere in the Springhill area, closest would be a 50 mile trip to the Clearwater area, if you are talking pools, most houses have one or failing that the local Springhill YMCA has a nice pool.
As for the weather? i find it just as hot and humid as anywhere else in Fla.

As others have said, you won't be swimming year-round here in Spring Hill unless you have a heated pool.
