Nope it is $1 per person each way plus tax... worked out to be $11.50 total, round trip for all of us... 4.5 hour drive each way.

This may be a viable mode of transportation to the cruise terminal next time we go out of Miami. That is way cheaper than the gas I would spend, let alone parking at the port. And honestly, 4.5 hours is not bad. It takes us 4 hours in our car.
Yeah but would your Megabus arrival time coincide with your cruise departure time?

If not, you'll have to get a room overnight in Miami... then you would probably have spent more overall.

Keep in mind that Megabus is always late...

Does Megabus get the same clientele as Greyhound? That would be a strong incentive not to ride.

Pretty much the same clientele! I think bus transportation (as a whole) tends to attract people with lower income and students without vehicles. People with options usually opt for a more comfortable means of travel.

This is true for long hauls, not for short rides. Commuter buses in NYC are full of white collar workers.

Yes, I couldn't imagine sitting on a bus for several hours with sketchy people when I could drive or fly. I guess it's a good option if you have no other options.

This is a super major waste of money.
Check the depth of the water before jumping in.

Megabus is a private company, not a government venture.

Going from Tampa to Orlando, getting smash drunk and driving home is the other option.

Wouldnt a bus be better?

Right now there are no high speed trains, but there is highway system.

Call Megabus and tell them how stupid they are.

That is amazing. $1 each way. Sit back, open a book and your on your way.

Of course we will have those who feel it is below them to travel by bus.

Good point! I wasn't thinking about commuter buses. I do ride a commuter bus from time to time when I need to go downtown just to avoid parking.

Wow, $35 to from Tampa to Miami is very cheap! That's about what you'd pay just for a taxi to the airport.
Right now there are small business that take you door-to-door $40 to Miami. I didn't know they even exist until we recently invited an out-of-the-country friend of ours who came to Miami. We paid $75 roundtrip, door-to-door, dropping her at our house and picking her on the day she wanted. She didn't even book the return date. One way is $40.
