Well it's the actual radio staion that has now started broadcasting on the internet as well now. Some radio staion do that but not all. There are plenty of internet staions out there though. There is yahoo, slacker, pandora, etc. And with slacker and pandora you can actually pesonalize your staions to what your favs are. Thats another one I fequently listen to.

WMNF bills itself as a community radio station, but in reality it caters to a small portion, politics-wise.

Musically it's more diverse. They even had an extreme metal show on Sundays though it was scrapped.

I like SOnic Detour when they play alternative, not the neo-folk snoozefest that is the morning show. They have some great alternative programs on the weekends and late night- experimental, electronica. I also listen to the Sunday Simcha.

WMNF's problem is that it appeals mainly to an older crowd, which is fine, but their inability, or desire, to cater to a younger audience will hurt them in the future as fund raising will take a dive. They already have seen some lean pledge drives as of late.

98.7 has a really good morning show (funny) Orlando and the Freakshow. They also do an entertainment section with Carlos Diaz from Extra at 8am.

Although Reagan is my favorite Pres. of my lifetime (b. 1954), there's no question these type radio stations are musically superior. There used to be great over the air radio in my neck of the woods (northern VA / DC area) back in the '70s and into the '80s, but no more. Just discovered WMNF online a couple days ago. Planning to move to Sarasota County and hoping I can get reception in my car over the air. Got XM but like to have good local radio too. BTW, speaking of political slants some might be interested in this take on Dylan's at rightwingbob.com.

I like 89.7 in the morning for the news, then 88.5 from 10 - 2. Then back to 89.7 for evening news. Weekends I like 89.7 for Praire Home Companion, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Click and Clack.

I'm glad this post was revived again! It isn't just me that listens to some radio stations over the day. I'm not much of a tv viewer, except for some specific programs .
