This is EXACTLY why some of us on here try to correct the mistruths some people tell, like there are no jobs, all jobs pay minimum wage and we do not have a diverse industrial mix.

Read it and weep negative nellies. The truth is the truth and here it is.

To anyone considering moving to the area, please consider the facts and ignore unbacked rumors.

Looks like the Tampa area is a great place to be for work, not to mention so many other things. Hurray for us!

The Best Cities to Find a Job | WalletHub®

"The area’s economy is nearly back to its pre-recession size, however, and only 11 major U.S. cities have fewer employees per capita living below the poverty line. Tampa’s workforce is also the 8th best paid, when cost of living is taken into account, and also benefits from the 9th most diverse industrial mix."

Yep, i was told last month our whole IT department would be laid off at the end of July, so i didn't waste anytime applying for other jobs. Literally the first job i applied for i got a callback within an hour, got the interview and the next week got the job. They also gave me $7,000 more than what i was asking for in the application, so there goes to show you the pay can also be good too, but it just depends what field you are in and your specialties. I couldn't be happier though with my new job especially with the company it is and the fact that i live across the street from it

A quick Google search brings up several "best cities for jobs" in 2014 and Tampa is not on the list. Where are all these great jobs coming from? It seems like just yesterday Amazon warehouse jobs were the big thing going on in the area. Tampa's economy is improving, but I wouldn't start dancing in the streets just yet.

it depends on the field of work. If there is not a lot of crowding in a certain field, then it's easy to find jobs...but if there is a LOT of competition for said job, it's not so rosy! Another biased article wrote by someone that doesn't live here.

The same can be said in anywhere USA. There are a number of factors they used to come up with the overall picture. Maybe you should read it "all".

I just love how fast the negative nellies will want to come out in a thread which has positive news to try to dampen the spirits, rather than looking at the situation and being happy that things have improved so much.

That pretty much says it all.

It's the arrogant way that you presented your info. Also, this is one list of many that have no mention of Tampa.

Ummmm, then you did not read it. There is a chart and Tampa is clearly listed as 3rd and then there is a summary below it about Tampa.

God I love it when people make comments about something they have not even read.
