Do you apply at TIA or someplace else?

Here we go again. IMO, it's not a bad airport but it is nothing special either. Those trams really slow things down when trying to get out in a hurry.

We also care about airports, and agree TIA is awesome. It's just so easy and makes the experience of air travel less wearing. DH travels 1-2 weeks of the month on average, and being nearby to such a stellar airport makes his job less stressful. It was absolutely a factor in us moving back here.

Being that I have ATL airport to compare it too-I will also say I love TIA. Bright, cheery, small, not crazy crowded.

ATL airport is like a nightmare at a zoo...insanity at it's finest!

We did not pay, or even apply. We were put in TSA Pre-Check by American Airlines (we have Elite status with them). We get TSA Pre-Check not just when flying American Airlines, but with other airlines, because we are in the TSA system.

Yes you can apply and pay, but there are other free options: see this page

Great link and info.

My wife's company paid to get it done for her job.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it does not appear to match many of the rating agencies and most of the patrons.

I LOVE Tampa International airport! First hour - free parking. WiFi internet - free. Choices to eat. No huge distances to walk (I rather spend 3 minutes waiting for tram than walk for 15 minutes). Playground in terminals (at least in 2 we recently used).

Hate Miami airport. Not a big fan of Orlando airport. Hate-HATE-HATE JFK...

Oh yes, those trams! Sometimes you have to wait like a minute and a half! And the tram ride drags on, second after second after second, for like about a whole minute or so.

Who has that kind of time?
