Hello All-

My husband and I just moved here from San Diego and are looking for areas or neighborhoods similar to Northpark, Southpark, or University Heights. We are currently staying with family in North Tampa, but are looking for fun, and culturally diverse neighborhood. We don't necessarily want a party environment, but an area with cool bars, nightlife, art galleries, etc.

I am also looking for good organic, local produce. Any shops or farmers market recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Downtown St. Pete is what you are looking for. Plus there is a huge Farmer's market there.

We're in the process of considering a move from Oakland to the Sarasota area and drove through St Pete on Sunday, on the way to the airport. It's really attractive and if I wanted "city" again it's where I'd head. Lovely old homes, brick streets; I can't wait to get back to explore!

Funny, years ago when I was all set to move to San Diego, University Heights and North Park were in my top 5 places to live (also Kensington). When I decided about 18 months ago to start planning a move to FL, I wanted to have a similar feel and realized St. Pete was the place.

I LOVE Zee Grill and we're pretty picky. GL. I also vote you check out and live or consider living in or near Downtown SPete. LUCKY YOU. Enjoy. There's my favorite Vietnamese place there along with the Taco bus and that's all I"m saying on the board as I'm having to wait on lines when I go NOW. Even in Summer - . Pm me anytime for any info I can pass to you. I don't live there YET, but go often and will one day be there.hope.hope.

How are you finding the properties in FL compared with San Diego? Are prices much cheaper? Particularly interested in waterfront, are you looking for water/oceanfront homes or condos?
