We have Duke Energy, a 1990's 2,550 sq ft single family block home with new roof, new 15 seer 5 ton heat pump system, crappy single pane windows and barely enough attic insulation to fill up to the top of the joists. Replacing the windows and sliders would be a huge expense and probably not recoverable in the time we will spend in this house. So I was wondering about having additional fiberglass insulation blown into the attic.

Has anyone here had that done? What does it cost? Does Duke help out with that? If so, do you call Duke first? If not Duke first, who is a reputable person to call who would service North Pinellas? Does it make a big difference in energy efficiency?

I did it and noticed it helped with heat in the winter. I don't have dukey so not sure. Cost will vary with size of the house. Mine was around 300 back in 2010

Putting a radiant barrier on the roof would probably help more than adding insulation, although from what you describe you really should have more insulation.
