Thanks for the link. He almost was trying to cause an accident by pulling in front of her!!!

This was recorded on my smartphone and that's how I got the make/model of the car and if FHP wants a copy they can have it.

I never asked "how to report it". I asked what else can I do ?

Road rage isn't new in the Tampa area but it's a growing problem and with cell phones, much easier to capture the events.

Without this video, this guy may have gotten away with his behaviour.

Unless you got a clear picture of the guy driving the car, all he would have to say is "I wasn't driving that day."

First, "road rage" is not a crime. "Almost" causing an accident is probably just the commission of a civil traffic infraction, which must be witnessed by a law enforcement officer in order for anything to be done about it. When you called FHP, the dispatcher simply broadcasted your call and the information that you gave to all the troopers in the area. It ended there. There will be no official report and there will be no further investigation. It's legally just a traffic infraction like any other.

Now it would be different if an actual crime was committed. If someone got mad at your driving and pulled a gun on you, that's a crime. If someone intentionally hit your vehicle with theirs, that's a crime. If you were stopped at a red light and someone got out of their car and hit you because they didn't like your driving, that's a crime. Then there would actually be an investigation and you would also have grounds for a lawsuit.

You can't sue someone for committing a traffic infraction just because it makes you mad. If you truly want to find out who the person is, hire a private investigator and give them the information you have. They can probably find out.
