Hey all, just a simple question.

Is there any area around Tampa or any other SW FL region that's like Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, at least as far as aesthetics go? I am particularly fond of the beauty, shaded canopies, and tropical dense foilage of those areas. Visited Tampa and Sarasota before but have done only VERY limited exploring. Haven't been anywhere else in SW FL to know.

Thanks in advance

South Tampa (between Kennedy & Gandy) and Old Northeast in St Pete are the main ones. Davis Islands is also good. Maybe Safety Harbor and Dunedin?

I appreciate it @roadtrip75. I will try googling these areas to see if I can find any good images.

In Sarasota, drive on south Orange Ave, also Indian Beach west of Trail, Siesta Key and Longboat Key - all breathtakingly beautiful. In Bradenton go along Riverview Blvd. The whole Sarasota/Bradenton area is very beautiful with old trees and tropical foilage.

Naples being further south will probably have the more tropical look. From Sarasota south you get into climate where coconut palms will grow. Pinellas is too far north.

I can't speak to the social/cultural climate. We each have our own standards in that department anyway.

Thank you all for the responses! I googled images and looked at youtube vids of the areas that were mentioned and I think you guys were head on with your suggestions. Like some have mentioned, Naples have more of that tropical look though. Still, none are like Coconut Grove & Coral Gables. I guess it's their location that give that certain "effect", but then again i havent been to the other mentioned areas to tell for myself. No biggie though, just was curious that's all

once again, thanks everyone :-)
