Great town. They just had gecko fest last month, the family had lots of fun. Great location between downtown st pete and st pete beach.

Yeah. It's a cool little town. Wife and I are through there all the time since we usually do "beach time" at St. Pete Beach.

It's ok to visit once in a while but wayyyyyyyyyyyy too small of an area. There's like one or two streets with anything of interest on it.

I live in Seminole, which is just a little north of it, and have been to Gulfport a couple times. It seems like a pretty nice area to me. Sort of a laid-back, family-oriented, socializing atmosphere with some nice restaurants and bars.

Low elevation, high property crime, Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowed located near Childs Park in St Petersburg, a location known for poverty, crime and social unrest. $25 million is needed to repair the sewers and the city doesn't have two dimes to rub together. Water quality issues in and around the beach and bayou. Location location location.....

I visited once and wasn't too impressed. The bay looked dirty, and the two blocks of downtown was totally deserted. Only places that had people were the two beach bars there. And very close to a run-down part of St. Pete. Downtown St. Pete is sooooo much better. Or for small Pinellas towns, Dunedin or Tarpon Springs.

Wow so much hate Gulfport is a great place! White, black, short, tall, pretty, not pretty, gay, straight....no matter. Everyone is friendly and treats you the same. Fun bars nice art festivals on the beach blvd main street couple times monthly. Farmers market outside couple times a month. Great views of ciega bay. No parking fees!!!!! Yes that is right. One of the very few Non greedy cities that let you park anywhere for free!!!!

If your a snob and judge others hardly based on appearance, stay away from Gulfport. If your a person that rather judges people based on how they treat you and others, come on down and visit....have fun...make some friends. Between omaddys, beachouse, saltys, Neptune's and a few others...you are sure to have fun and make new friends while having a quick drink. Check out some of the downtown antique and art stores for fun while there. Your pocket loses no coins while parking there

Gulfport rocks...closest thing to key west you can find....decor, food and people like I said!!!!

My son went to school there at Stetson. He moved as soon as he finished school.
