When I lived in metro Detroit we had plenty of Canadians come to see specialist and get testing is because of the long wait times. In some cases it takes over 4 weeks to see a specialist in Canada and to get testing. So the health care in Canada has its drawbacks also.

We also have private insurance that amounts to another $20-$30 per week that covers things like glasses, dental and drugs although the drugs can be covered by your national healthcare coverage.
Canadians viewing the American system of Healthcare are amazed at how needlessly complex the system is. Healthcare? IMO let the government deal with it.
Oh, those socialist Canadians, how dare you compare us to them! .

About those $30 dollars per month healthcare premium, that's what I always wonder how middle and lower income people in this country vote against their interest for you know who. Of course, health care is not a priority when they vote, guns and gay marriage are. Then they are wondering how they can't afford the bill . We should have a single payer system long-time ago.

That was $30 bucks a paycheck not per month for some one making $50K per year.

Sure. I understood that. That's why I said lower to middle class depending where you live.

For those that have come to America from elsewhere whats your take on the American healthcare system compared to the system you had where you came from, Would a national healthcare plan benefit America in your opinion?

The worst part is when the majority was there and they could have pushed the single payer plan through they didnt, wasted opportunity in the name of bipartisanship, and what did that get him, now is obamacare this and obamacare that, if you ask most people they think the ACA came 100% from the president and it was passed at midnight with a gun to their heads. The ACA is the way watered down reformed for over 3 years full of compromises version of the original Affordable Health Care for America Act.

I am not talking about anyone specific, but sure there are interested parties who are benefiting from the healthcare system the way it's set now.
