My husband is currently working in Lake Wales. I visited last week 4 days and stayed around the Gibsonia area 33809 zip code. My job transfer is in the 33809 zip code. However: we have two boys 8 and 12, and the good schools seem to be in the Lakeland Highlands zip code of 33813. I also applied to a few magnet schools. I like to be close to work but most importantly I like to live in a safe area with good schools. I found a house to rent in the 33813 area code and a townhouse in the 33805 area code they are both nice homes but I like the townhouse better. My work is less than 3 miles from the 33805 zip code but I would be taking a chance moving there. If my boys don't get into the magnet schools, they would end up going to the 33805 public schools, which are D schools. How long of a drive would it be from Gibsonia area to the Lakeland Highlands area? I work the graveyard shift is the traffic bad around 9pm? What should I do? Advice please?

We haven't lived in Lakeland for several years; however if I were you I would pick Lakeland Highlands. I don't think you will have any type of bad commute from Gibsonia especially for the graveyard shift. Lakeland traffic was just never much to deal with, you shouldn't have any problems.

I live in Lakeland Highlands. My kids went to public schools here except for elementary (which is good). Your commute to Gibsonia would be about 30 minutes due to traffic. Not a bad commute. I have been here for 8 years and have been very happy.
