Northpinellas: A downtown where walkers are welcome

Walkable Main Street gets top spot for small cities. I've never been to Dunedin, but this makes me want to check it out. Anybody have recommendations on where to go for a good meal, a few drinks, and maybe some live music?

I like Kelly's for Just about Anything, and Dunedin Brewery.

Depends on what you want to eat! Sea Sea Riders, Casa Tina, Cafe Al Fresco, Kelly's...they're all good (and have been around for years-- long enough to get a devoted following, so plan for crowds at Kelly's Sunday mornings, or at Flanagan's on weekend nights). Never been to Black Pearl but it's on my list to try, if we ever find a decent babysitter.
Marguerite's (on Douglas, next to the library) has good desserts.
I know I'm forgetting somebody, but honestly, they're all good.

Casa Tina's is my favorite.

If you like Dunedin, you may also like Safety Harbor. A great little community.

Something I've noted after having lived in Safety Harbor and now in Dunedin is that those that are fond of one city are normally fond of the other as well. They both have something to offer that's a little different but they both have a real charm and character that a new young city/subdivision/whatever is going to lack.

Cheers

My wife and I got married at the Safety Harbor Resort. We had a catered dinner the night before at Hildegard's art house/beer garden. It was great, our out of town guests parked on Friday and didn't have to drive all weekend. No one getting lost, no DUIs, no wasting time driving from one place to another and figuring out who's in what car and how many people are going... Safety Harbor is very nice.

Default Brewery Brewery Brewery

Dunedin is a great town! The people are very cool for the most part and real laid back! Although it is a walkable town, drivers are sometimes careless of pedestrians on the trail. I say go to the Dunedin Brewery- their food is great (highly recommend the fish tacos!) as well as the beer- known for their live music every night (except sunday). Closed Mondays, Tuesdays- Drum Circle, Wednesdays and Thursdays Open Mic, Friday and Saturdays are always somebody good-a scheduled band (no cover on Friday). Bar hopping in down town is great- several choices and safe- can walk to all of them (FYI- Brewery tends to get crowded on weekends as the night goes on).

Also, Jolli-Mon's is a great little spot! Located on the trail in Dunedin- outdoors, restaurant/bar, caribbean/beach vibe, great prices and food! Actually, they are having a big hoopla this Friday for their 5th anniversary- drink and food specials, live music.

Kelly's is more upscale slightly uppety crowd, but worth stopping in for a martini! On one of the weekend nights at Blur there is a drag show... entertaining for the 5 or 10 bucks to get in. Only been to FLannigans a couple times- it's cool, but don't know it very well. Of course- stop by Skips for their Jogger Lager or Trail Ale! Just a nice place to chill for a beer or 2 (cash only)! Dog friendly town, whihc you will probably see at SKips. Couple weeks back someone had their pet goose with them there!

I have lived here about 3 years and still love it... I should get a kick back from the city for this post! By the Way- Mardi Gras in Dunedin- Tuesday, Feb 5, 08! Haven't missed a year yet! Good, clean drunken fun- no flashing, but lots of drinking!
