4925 2nd Ave N., St. Pete.

I know this is probably not the best location, but is it ok for a small family? I was looking at a few vacant lots and most of them are in the area (4th to 49th east to west and 5th to 28th north to south) that people are saying to stay away from. This one is just outside that area. Any opinions? Flood zone? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance!

Nothing wrong with the area. What is this "4th to 49th east to west and 5th to 28th north to south" mumbo jumbo?

Sorry, I've been looking for the post. It's what one of the posts on another thread said. It was argued, but I'm just going by what I read as I don't know the area.

Don't waste your time looking for the post. Most of the people who claim to be the ultimate experts on areas to avoid have never even been there or they drove by at night and got nervous. Thousands of people live in these areas and have no problems. Come and see for yourself.

Hey Movie - it's a pretty good area. It's close to a major road (49th) which has it's pros and cons but 49th is relatively friendly for a busier road. The 150k range hasn't been great recently so if you're looking for a place you can just move right into I'd feel pretty comfortable with a build there. I was a bit concerned about <11000 sf for a 3/2 but I liked the layout the builder had if you're using the one on the MLS. I'd say go for it.

I will say St Pete is very hit and miss with very nice streets and those that are less nice (and it is trending much nicer now, with investors buying everything that is reasonably priced) so if you were scared about the other areas, don't be - drive them. Euclid is one of nicer neighborhoods in St Pete and that would be an area earmarked to stay away from.
