seeing that I'm the only one on this message board that might even give the Rays a second thought, news that the 2016 schedule was put out today probably isn't relevant to anyone, but here it is.....

Rays Schedule | Tampa Bay Rays

of note, the Dodgers, Giants, and Padres will be visiting the Trop next season.....

As it stands now I think the Rays have played better than I expected. With all the injuries the team has had to deal with to their starting pitching (Smyly, Moore, Cobb, Odorizzi?) at some point during the year it would be incredible if they broke the .500 mark. The second half of the season they started hitting better and their bullpen is better than last year. But the problems they should address in the offseason is #1. the lack of power in that lineup. They could use a 25-30 home run left handed bat. #2. A consistent catcher who plays pretty good defense with a solid arm and can hit at least .250. #3. Learn how to lay down a freaking bunt. #4. Some common sense/fundamental base running. Way too many blunders on the basepaths. If they can accomplish just a couple of these than maybe the Rays can start winning close games. they are 2-12 in extra innings which is by far the worst in baseball. No other team comes close. Just look at the Tiger series. Rays lost the first game by one run, the second in extra innings, and went on to win game three 8-0.

Seven straight strike outs now for Archer through three innings against a Red Sox lineup that has hit well lately. When Archer is on his game he is one of the best in the AL. Rays up 3-1 heading into the top of the fourth.

Archer had six straight gms vs Boston without a win, I believe. He's been one of the biggest bright spots for the Rays this season and fun to watch, that's for sure and could have a even better record had the Rays scored for him earlier in the season.....too bad he didn't get the win last night.
