If the job is on Kennedy, make your life easy, OP, live in South Tampa. Plant is one of the best schools one could ask for.

I didn't know that part of the Florida lifestyle was sitting in traffic for an hour twice a day, dint think I ever heard that one on a Jimmy Buffett song.

You have no idea what a miserable commute really is...I don't want to sound like my grandparents saying I walked three miles each way to school everyday...but sitting in an air conditioned car is a big improvement over getting into midtown each morning from Long Island...I guess it's all relative...

Irishiis - if not for IB program, is Palm Harbor UH still the best choice, as far as you are concerned?

I think taking the IB and Medical programs out of the equation I still think it's a school with a great faculty and very involved parents...they also have a great honors program and the proximity to St.Pete College(Tarpon Springs campus)is an added bonus...I think the whole school benefits from PHUHS reputation as "the jewel in the crown" of Pinellas high school system...so yes it would still be my #1 choice...

i dont know last i check the lirr got you there in 20min in an air conditioned car. Thats not the point, i guess i find puzzling people who want to move here and one of their reasons is being tired of an hour commute, but then want to do a 45 min commute here

Well first you have to get to the LIRR(bus, walk, drive and find parking)...20 minutes from Flushing not Long Island...then when you arrive in Penn Station( also known as the gates of hell) you then have grab a subway, bus or walk to your office...oh and round trip to city on peak will cost you a pretty penny...
