So I lined up a Job in Pasco County and I am starting in July. I have family letting me use there place in Tarpon springs for now, until I find a house. I was looking in Odessa, Wesley Chapel, Lutz areas..Can anyone let me know which areas would be best for myself, wife, and 2 young elementary age kids? I am looking for decent schools. Thanks..

All over SR-54 there are tons of sub divisions that would allow you to have a decent commute to work.

All the areas you mentioned would be good and have good schools. Wesley Chapel would probably be the most congested with Odessa being the most rural. If you want to not be along SR 54 you might consider looking along Lutz Lake Fern Road. It has traffic on it during the peak hours but you do not get the feel of living off a 6 lane highway (SR 54 or US 41).

Well I will just mention the areas again without the links which include Asturia, Starkey Ranch, Longlake Ranch and Estancia at Wiregrass just to name a few.

Congrats on your move from Long Island to Tampa bay. Wow I am trying to do the same thing as you my friend. I currently live in Medford here in Suffolk county. My best friend lives in Tarpon Springs near Fred Howard Park. My Godfather has his home two blocks from there. From what my friend tells me a really good place but its in Pinellas county is Oldsmar. It has great schools and my friend said there are a lot of new business being built there. So its a good place for jobs. I am thinking of moving to Oldsmar myself. Tarpon Springs is great also if your near the water like my Godfather. But the other side is really bad near martin luthur king Blvd. Great restaurants at the sponge docks. Not sure if Pappas is still there. My friend eats at Rusty Bellies by the docks and Hellas.

While Pasco has a few sketchy areas along 19 it also has many nice developments close to Suncoast Parkway and out by I-75 , If you have a job in Pasco i dont get why you immediately want to live 25 or 30 miles away from the job.
